Palworld Horns in 2026: A Lazy Hunter's Guide

I have a confession: I have spent more time in Palworld chasing horned mammals than I care to admit. My base is a mess, my Pals are hungry, and yet there I am, sprinting across the Grassy Behemoth Hills with a spear and a dream. Why? Because Horns are one of those annoying crafting components that never seem to be in your chest when you need them. You cannot automate them. You cannot grow them. You cannot ask a Lamball nicely. You have to go out and get them yourself. And in 2026, after countless updates and quality-of-life changes, that fundamental truth remains: if you want Horns, you either open your wallet or open a can of whoop-ass on some innocent wildlife. Preferably both.

Buy First, Hunt Later (Or Just Buy, Honestly)

If you are not a fan of hunting Pals for components, here is the shortcut: buy Horns from a merchant. The Wandering Merchant in the Small Settlement west of the Grassy Behemoth Hills sells them for 300 Gold Coins each. He also sells Leather, Wool, Medical Supplies, Schematics, and various other goods. I like to think of him as the only entrepreneur in Palworld who understands supply chains. He does not care that I just slaughtered a family of Eikthyrdeer; he just wants my gold. Respect.

But if you would rather spend your hard-earned Gold Coins on Pals, Pal Spheres, or that one blueprint you will never use, you will have to go hunting. There are nine types of Pals in the game that have a chance to drop Horns when killed or captured. Only two can be encountered early on: Eikthyrdeer and Caprity. Both are pretty difficult to take down for low-level players. So bring strong Pals, good weapons, and maybe a therapist. Below is the full list.

Now, a quick note from my own scar tissue: Caprity looks like a cute little goat. Do not trust it. It will headbutt you into next Tuesday. Eikthyrdeer looks like a moose that lifted weights. It will trample your hopes, your dreams, and your newly crafted armor. If you are low level, fight them near your base so your Pals can help, or use a ranged weapon and a lot of cowardice. I call it tactical retreating.

What To Do With Horns In Palworld

So you have a pile of Horns. Congratulations. You are now officially a Palworld artisan, or at least a person with a suspicious amount of animal parts in a chest. Horns are needed to produce Medical Supplies and other similar Consumables at a Medicine Workbench. You will also need some Bones and a couple of other components to craft most of these items. The first type of Medicine Workbench becomes available at Technology level 12 and requires x30 Wood, x5 Nail, and x10 Paldium Fragment to build. That is not too bad. Wood is everywhere. Nails are easy. Paldium Fragment requires you to mine shiny blue rocks, which is basically Palworld's version of cardio.

Meanwhile, Horns are also required to craft a couple of Saddles at the Pal Gear Workbench. Namely, the Eikthyrdeer Saddle, the Eikthyrdeer Terra Saddle, and the Reindrix Saddle. The bench itself can be unlocked as early as Technology level 6 and requires x30 Wood, x2 Cloth, and x10 Paldium Fragment to build. However, the Saddles need to be unlocked separately a bit later on in the game. So do not rush to your workbench expecting to ride a moose into battle at level 7. You will be disappointed, and the moose will judge you.

In my opinion, the Eikthyrdeer Saddle is worth the hassle. There is something deeply satisfying about turning a Pal that once tried to stomp you into a loyal mount. It is the circle of life, Palworld edition. You kill it, you loot it, you craft a saddle, you ride its cousin. Beautiful.

My Horn Farming Routine (Patent Pending)

1. Empty my inventory except for weapons, spheres, and snacks. 🍖

2. Fast travel to a spot where Eikthyrdeer or Caprity spawn.

3. Send out my strongest Pals and immediately hide behind them.

4. Shoot from a distance while yelling 'I am helping!'

5. Collect Horns, Leather, and regret.

6. Repeat until my chest is full or my soul is empty.

If you have gold to burn, just buy the Horns. There is no shame in it. The Wandering Merchant does not judge. He just takes your money and gives you horns. It is the most honest transaction in the game. If you are broke, hunt. If you are lazy, buy. If you are me, do both and then wonder why you have 47 Medical Supplies and no room for anything else.

So there you have it: Horns are annoying, but they unlock medicine and saddles, which are two things every Palworld player needs.
